NSS PERSONNEL ALLOWANCE FINALLY INCREASED !!!!

GOVERNMENT HAS FINALLY INCREASED THE MONTHLY ALLOWANCE OF NSS PERSONNEL TO GH¢559.04 Whew!!!! It’s finally here guys. In a statement signed by the acting NSS Executive Director, Ussif Mustapha, the said increment is expected to take place from 1st April of this month. “The Management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) wishes to inform national service personnel and the general public that the government has approved an upward adjustment of national service personnel allowances from GH¢350.00 a month to GH¢559.04 a month with effect from 1st April, 2017.” The NSS boss went ahead to thank all national service personnel for their patience on the matter and urged all personnel to work harder to support the government. GIJ Banned Female Students From Wearing Miniskirts To Lectures

The Rector of the school, Dr Wilberforce Dzisah gave this warning in his address at the matriculation ceremony to induct newly admitted students for the 2016/2017 academic year. "No shorts or miniskirts are to be worn for lectures. Clothes which expose your vital parts shall not be entertained,” he warned the fresh men and women.  According to him, management of the school noticed that indecent dressing among students especially the ladies is on the increase and added that  this warning goes to all students including continuing students. He  warned that anyone who refuse to comply with this directive would be sanctioned. “Management will apply sanctions with regards to any violations of these directives,” he added. Dr Dzisah reminded the fresh men and women that the primary aim of every students was to study and successfully complete their prescribed academic programmes and that such provocative clothing had the tendency to sway them off their focus. ...

Kumasi Polytechnic Website Hacked !!!!! ;Admissions stalled

The admission of the first batch of students into the Kumasi Technical University has stalled as hackers cause the school’s official website and admission portal to shut down. The two systems of the school, formerly Kumasi Polytechnic, have been down for two months, making it impossible for prospective local and international students to access it for download of registration forms, prospectuses, fee payments and general information. Authorities say the cyber criminals are demanding money as a condition for restoring the system. Kumasi Polytechnic is one of the first six polytechnics to be converted into technical universities. UG Scale Down Minimum Fees Payable By Students

According to the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ghana, Management of the university has decided to scale down the minimum percentage of fees payable by students from 70% to a minimum of 60% for the 2016/2017 academic year. In previous years, students were required to pay a minimum of 70% of their fees before they can register for the academic year.  In a release signed by the executives of the SRC, a minimum of 60% fees has been approved for regular students while a minimum of 50% for Fee-paying and Foreign students. However, the Council noted that regular students who may have special problems with regards to meeting the 60% minimum can report to the SRC for special consideration. The next academic year starts on Wednesday, 17 th August, 2016.
